Details: A leading manufacturer and supplier of aftermarket brake components and systems for everyday cars, performance duty vehicles and ultra-performance vehicles is searching for an engineer to apply knowledge of vehicle dynamics and brake system design to create performance replacement brake systems. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: • Respond to vehicle/kit development requests provided by the sales department. • Obtain test vehicles and perform initial driving evaluations and measurements.• Use known engineering models and existing component inventory, or components as yet to be designed, to develop a single axle or tandem axle brake system that meets the customer’s requirements, engineering and design standards.• Design the required components (calipers, hats, brackets, hoses) under the supervision of the Engineering Manager and Director of Engineering. • Work with machining and assembly departments in order to convey designs for prototype parts, and provide drawings for all components.• Work with Manufacturing Engineer to develop production and assembly work fixtures required to produce the specified parts.• Install prototype kits and validate design specifications.• Coordinate and conduct on-vehicle testing such as FMVSS 135 with the assistance of the Test Engineer.• Other duties as may be required by management, including any tasks required to implement and maintain the company’s TS16949 Quality Certification.
